The directory is built from the Companies House bulk register and from agencies who register with us directly. Membership of a redress scheme, Propertymark or RICS is recorded from evidence the agency supplies at onboarding and verified by hand — the schemes' own directories are search-only and carry no reuse licence, so we do not copy them.
Checking an agent before you instruct them
- Redress. Estate agents, and letting and property management agents in England, must belong to a government-approved redress scheme - The Property Ombudsman or the Property Redress Scheme - so you can take an unresolved complaint to it. Both let you search their members.
- Client money protection. In England, a letting or property management agent that holds client money must also belong to a client money protection scheme, and display its certificate.
